The Route
Teams book in and are inspected at Chapel Scout H.Q. Those taking part in the Kinder Walk are then transported, by minibus, to the start at Edale Community Centre. The walk then proceeds over Kinder Scout to Hayfield and finishes back at Chapel-en-le-Frith.
Those on the Kinder Challenge start and finish at Chapel Scout H.Q. The walk proceeds through Chapel, via paths to Chinley, then Throstle Bank turning right at GR 035849, along the path past Hills Farm, crossing the A624 and joining the path towards Shake Holes. Then following the Kinder Walk route back to Chapel
Checkpoints
Checkpoints are sited at strategic locations along the route where drinks may be obtained and supporters can check on their teams’ progress. It also enables us to monitor times and be assured of the teams’ progress on the day.
